3 Best Ways To Keep Hydrated

Do you always have dry lips, headaches, dry skin, and you experience dizziness? Chances are, you don’t drink enough water. Maybe you are too busy or you just don’t like drinking water that much. You are not alone. Many adults find themselves dehydrated because they don’t think so much about the importance of keeping oneself hydrated.

It may not be that alarming to you now but on a daily basis, you are not aware how being hydrated can improve your mood and your performance at work. Drinking plenty of water has lots of benefits to your overall wellness. It increases your brain performance making you feel alert. It also flushes toxins out of your body. It boosts your immune system and keeps headaches away. If you are not already a fan of drinking water, then maybe it is time to reconsider. Knowing its benefits is one thing. Sticking to the goal of keeping hydrated is another. So, below are ways to make sure you have enough of what your body needs.

Making It A Habit

Set a time to drink one glass of water. Then do this on a regular basis until it becomes a habit. Start by drinking a glass of water when you wake up in the morning. Drink another glass an hour before your first meal. Get another one an hour after your meal and then do that on your next meals. And then drink one more glass 2 hours before bedtime. That is already 9 glasses of water. Start from this simple goal. If you need to set alarm every time you need to drink, then be it so. As long as you stick to it. This will make you go to the restroom to pee many times during the day but it is alright.

Freshen Yourself with Infused Water

If you find that drinking tasteless water is difficult to swallow, then you might want to try to infuse water with cucumber or lemon. You can also try apples or watermelons. If you are trying to lose weight, infused water is one of the best and most fun ways to do that. Infused water is refreshing and gives you a lot of extra vitamins that fruits bring. It also gives you a taste of fruit so while you hydrate your body, you also feel refreshed.

Munch Those Fruits

If you are still not a fan of the idea of drinking a lot whether it be plain water or infused water, then your best bet is eating fruits that contain a lot of water. For example, watermelon and strawberries. These two contain almost 92% water per volume. Other fruits that have sufficient amount of water are pineapples, oranges, cranberries, peaches and grapefruit. Choose a fruit that you find most tasteful for you so that it does not feel like you are burdened to keep hydrated. Whatever it is that you choose, be careful in mixing different fruits at the same time as it may upset your stomach.
