Re-Entry Visa to Israel - Latest Update as of April 12, 2021

Since the last airport lockdown, all caregivers coming to Israel for the first time or returning to Israel needed to go through a special committee to allow them to enter Israel. This condition to enter Israel was canceled and as of 7.4.2021.

Caregivers with valid re-entry visa will be able to return upon the following conditions:

1. The agency needs to get approval for you to return – the re-entry visa is not enough. This means you still rely on the employer.

2. Negative Covid test 72 hours prior to the flight + Negative Covid test in the airport in Israel.

3. Even if you are vaccinated/recovered from Covid in Israel or your home country – you will have to be in quarantine until you will take a serological test in Israel that shows you have antibodies.

4. If you are not vaccinated, you will have to be in quarantine, and you will have to get a Covid vaccination when you return to Israel.

All of this means – you still need the approval of your employer before returning, and you are still taking a risk, unfortunately. But the process should be easier.

Kav Laoved is now in touch with the Ministry of Health and tries to get them to change the regulation, so that at least caregivers that were vaccinated or recovered from covid in Israel, will not have to be in quarantine.
