Israel Population and Immigration Authority – The Knesset Plenary approved on Tuesday the law which allows the Caregivers in Israel to stay with their employers until the end of October 2021 without restrictions. All caregivers who are working with an employer from March 3, 2021, or earlier can keep their job regardless of their visa status.
This is to ensure the continuity of jobs for these Caregivers as they already formed a connection with their employers.
Due to the Pandemic, Ayelet Shaked, Ministry of Interior together with the Census and Immigration Authority, Shlomo More Yosef, pushed for the bill to give a solution to the nursing patient population which relied for a period on the decisions of the Authority due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Approval of the bill allows the Interior Ministry to confirm the presence of undocumented Foreign Workers who are supposed to be sent home after staying more than the maximum allowable months to work in Israel.
However, these Caregivers will continue to work for their respective employers until the end of October 2021.
