Philippine Embassy: Placement or Brokerage Fee in Israel

The Philippine Embassy in Israel recently publish a reminder about collecting a Placement Fee in Israel.

"Amid widespread expensive and illegal collection of Placement Fee from Filipino caregivers in Israel, we would like to remind you, especially those who just arrived in Israel about the NO PLACEMENT FEE policy of the Philippines. Here in Israel, the only legal fee that is permitted by law is the 70 shekels (NIS) every month to be paid by the employer for the assistance that is given to them by the manpower agency and the 2000 shekels (NIS) one time fee in hiring a caregiver.

Whatever amount aside from the legal placement fee approved the POEA and the law of Israel for caregivers is strictly prohibited by the Philippines and Israel government.

Make sure to ask for Official Receipt for everything that you pay, whether it's placement fee, broker's fee or service fee.

You can ask for clarification at the Philippine Embassy or POLO if you have any questions about this. You can even file a complaint at the Embassy (filembis@netvision.co.il) or POLO (polois_2002@yahoo.com) if you notice any violation of the said policy."
