“April’s dedication and reliability were outstanding. She provided continuous care, while ensuring that the apartment was always clean and sanitary. She showed initiative and courage in ensuring that our mother could also enjoy life outside the home—whether by maneuvering her into a wheelchair-taxi for outings to the mall or by accompanying her on walks through the neighborhood to parks, and so that she could join us for Shabbat. April was also deeply considerate of our religious needs, taking the time to learn the basics of Shabbat and kashrut so that she could respect and support our family’s way of life. April's warm, friendly disposition made her not only a trusted aide but a true companion to our mother as well. She also proved her honesty and integrity in managing the household cash and expenses. As our mother’s health steeply declined, April remained devotedly by her side in the hospital, learning new medical procedures to ease her transition into hospice care. Throughout, she was consistently willing to help in any way possible. April would diligently give us adequate notice when she needed a break, and even took responsibility to help arrange suitable replacement caregivers during her time away.
